2gig CT100 low battery icon won't turn off

I am running two of these thermostats in my house and on the same day both of them displayed the low battery warning. I replaced the batteries in both units at the same time with brand-new batteries. It has been two days and the low battery warnings have stayed on.

I thought maybe a certain amount of time would need to pass before the unit would realize the batteries are new and then I went and read the manual to see if there was a manual reset procedure, but I am now stumped.

Anyone else ever see this?

Thanks
Dave

I don’t have that unit but check the variables in the device called wake up interval and poll time. I have a door sensor with bad performance and so I set 10,800 for both these values. I also had to do a trip on the device (for me opening my door) and perhaps you need to perform at least one action on the thermostat that forces it to wake and send its information to Vera.

In the variables section I have also changed the variable where battery reports to 100% to get the “change command property sent” to force it to update its status.

Just a thought or two…

Thank you for the reply… What’s strange is the low battery message is actually on the t-stat display, not in Vera (I should have mentioned that)… The operation through Vera continues to be flawless but it’s been over a week and they both still have the low battery icon on the screen. So I think it’s more something in the t-stat itself than the Vera control…

I see, sorry good luck. Maybe a support ticket or check with 2gig to see if it’s a known issue.

Try removing the battery from both thermostats and remove power.
Restore power and batteries and see it the low battery disappears.

I think you need to get the CT100 running off wall power instead of just battery, you should. Most furnaces have a 24V output called the C-wire or common (usually connected to a black wire) and if you can get that wired up to the thermostat so it?s running off wall power then the batteries should last for years. Even if your furnace doesn?t have a 24V common terminal, if you have extra wires available in the cable you can use an 18-24V power supply (AC or DC) to power the CT100. I definitely recommend powering the CT100 off wall power because with the z-wave communication and everything it drains batteries faster than a simple thermostat.

I believe if you look on the circuit board there is a grey reset button. Push it to reset the status on the ct100

That did it… Thanks! I had just pulled the top cover off to disconnect the power based on the previous post, and your post came through before I disconnected it… I pressed reset on both and all is good… I didn’t even have to re-include them… They both still work through Vera.

I should’ve figured that out by myself but thanks for the help!
