$299 Vera Touchscreen Controller

Might make an excellent control panel for Vera and only $299:

Looks interesting, I could see it being a good controller if a proper interface were designed, either a web interface that has no scrolling or a standalone program.

I found one in China. A Linux (Ubuntu) based Net Tablet with nothing than a touchscreen for 190$.

Fits well in the kitchen, has a very low powerconsumption and is ideal with the (old) iPhone UI.

“Just” $299? It’s essentially large screen PDA, not a netbook: ARM based design with minuscule memory and CPU power, and there’s significantly less software available comparing to the same thing be it built on Intel Atom. Its only advantage is touchscreen interface, and I don’t think it’ll be long until we see few Atom based products with touchscreen.

Since you mention that 325, I found this article a few days ago - Touch Screen Netbooks With Windows 7 On The Way From Acer, MSI?

Most touchscreen controllers are over $500:

So $299 is cheap.
