.28 for Kindle Fire

Any chance you’ll add the new version to the slideme drop?

Thanks for the great app.

Tom

Hi Tom,

Based on user reviews, it seems that not everyone is happy with the new version so I’d like to keep the old version there in case anyone would want to downgrade. For now, you can get the latest release from here:

I haven’t tested on a Kindle so please let us know how it goes. Thanks!

Thanks. Downloading it now. Ill post back after I’ve run it for a few days.

One issue I’ve found immediately is when attempting to stream a camera it throws the following error: “Unable to stream video(host name may not be null)”. The cameras all stream correctly on UI4.

Everything else appears to look/function correctly.

Thanks!

Tom

Thanks for keeping that drop updated with the most current version. I sent you a donation.

I’m running. 33 on my EVO and my Fire. All features work as expected except for streaming of IP cams. I have five different Panasonic cams and none of them will stream with. 33. All give the error “Unable to stream video. (Host name may not be null.)” That error happens on both devices. Both do show the still shot though.

Thanks.

Tom

If you are running UI5, there is a large chance streaming will not work outside of your network. It is a known limitation that MCV acknowledged.

Nope. UI4. It was working fine two or three revisions ago.

Hopefully that info can help rakstar figure out what is going on.

  • Garrett

Agreed. Thanks for calling out the issue with ui5.

Rakstar - what is the best way to send a DCR to you? I have three Veras deployed and it would be really great if you had a configuration option that would allow you to pin at least two veras to the top of the homebuddy main screen so you don’t have to go into the setup to make the change.

Thanks!

Tom

@tdinardo I received your donation… that was very generous of you, thank you so much!

I do have on my list to add a way to switch between Vera instances from the main screen. I hope to get that out soon.

Regarding your camera issue, could you please try the instructions that I posted in this thread (even if your cameras aren’t foscams):

Please post back to let us know your findings. Thanks.

OK, i tried this and get the following from fw1:

{“status”:“warning”,“url”:“http://MyUserName:MyPassword@:3482/nphMotionJpeg?Resolution=640x480&Quality=Clarity”}

and no response at all from FW2.

Not sure what happened here since this was working last week and I’ve made no changes on the Vera that has these cams.

Also, I’ve confirmed that port 3482 is pointed at the Vera.

Looks like the “host name may not be null” error is accurate – your hostname/IP should be between the @ and : symbols. The complete URL should be:

http://MyUserName:MyPassword@MyHostOrIP:3482/nphMotionJpeg?Resolution=640x480&Quality=Clarity

I have a panasonic camera and Vera forms the correct URL for me. I looked at my camera settings and I don’t see any user settings for host. Have you contacted MiOS support about this?

I’ll open a ticket for it and post back when I know more.

OK, I was told that UI4 did not support doing this (though I was using UI4 and it did work). I had issues with UI5 so I went back. Since this is not supported, I decided to bite the bullet again and go back up to UI5 (latest beta release as of today). The issue still repros. I’ve enabled support and requested that MCV take a look at the problem.

Unless MCV adds this feature back into UI5. You will most likely be out of luck.

So you mean that streaming is now just gone in both UI4 and UI5?

Remote streaming under UI5 for opening a tunnel that 3rd party apps can use does not work.

  • Garrett

Thanks for confirming that.

I just got a response back from support that this can be done.

“I consulted with my colleagues from the development team and it seems that you will be able to accomplish what you are trying to do with a Luup request:

I suck at Luup, so I have no idea how to accomplish this. Any ideas on how to configure this?
