I wanted to install a two way zwave (Jasco) switch in an area, but it only has the two black wires plus the ground…there is no return wire. Does this mean a new neutral wire would need to be installed to get a zwave switch working?
For the On/Off 45609, yes. It must have a neutral.
The dimmer 45613, no. This switch does not use a neutral. However, this switch is intended only for incandescent lights. It should not be used fro CFLs and LEDs.
