Hi All,
have used Vera alerts for some time and all has worked fine.
I now wish to have alerts go to the wife mobile so have downloaded the android app. registered it. taken the code and added a profile in Vera. I have a licence. I then go to send alert tab and select her mobile and it sends test message fine. when I do the same for me - we both get it? why?
I want to send separate alerts to each device separately - having a brain fart day and just cant work it out?
totally confused - 2 different phones, 2 different gmail accounts for play store, installed and installed over and over, registered etc etc. one works independently and the other goes to both… grrr what am i missing i am so frustrated at myself as have read all manuals and seem to be missing the obvious.
any clues on getting one message to each phone independently of the other.
You need separate Vera user ids (on cp.mios.com) to have different notifications for different users.
Then in Vera Alerts settings page
Select each user on left. then assign the profile(s) from the right list.
Hi Richard,
thank you for the help.
how do you mean “row Vera user ids”
i have one admin and one for notifications. when selecting the user account with notifications only i cant unselect the profile linked to the admin account - it always comes back selected.
Had no idea what I was typing … and you caught me … thank goodness I can edit my posts.
Morning Richard,
Thank you again for your help and time. after a good meal and a nights sleep i have tried again this morning in the hope Vera may have sorted itself out and still no luck. let me explain in detail my set up and perhaps you can see where I am going wrong.
I have 2x Mios accounts. Both are Administrator accounts and have been verified. I have never logged in from one as only set up for this but assume all should work (I will do that in a minute to just rule that out).
I have a licence for vera alerts that allows me 2x active profiles.
I have 2x identical mobiles running the vera alerts app and have registered them also.
I have added 2x “Vera-Alerts-Mobile” profiles and just added the respective codes from each app.
I have then gone to setting and deselected all profiles under “default recipients” and I have selected one user for one account and the other user for the other account. I then save and refresh (vera dance)
I then go to send alerts and select user1 and add a message - this goes to both user 1 and user 2. it is only supposed to go to user 1 right? I do the same for user 2 and this message only goes to user 2.
So what did i miss? why does user1’s message got to both users?
Any help would be great.
Thank you in advance.
Goto the advanced TAB (after a Browser Refresh) of Vera Alerts.
Send (PM or Email) the contents of the parameter:
UserProfileAssociation
You might also clear it out, and set it again in settings … I think something went wrong in a past upgrade.
Hi Richard,
PM sent thank you.
Just going to try you other suggestion of clearing out param now.
further update, still no joy.
i uninsulated the Vera app and started a fresh.
I have done the same on each mobile from separate Google play accounts so nothing can be linked in any way.
do test and message from users do not work at all now but profile tests give same outcome as before, one goes to one and the other goes to both…
I am totally stumped.
Richard - is there any way to read logs to see what happening? logically so far things are not making sense right?

Each Vera Alerts mobile app should have a different ID. Last picture shows you need to have 2 profiles created each with different ID’s (which I have blacked out mine)
The middle 2 pictures shows that I have associated (clicking the orange tab on the left with the check box on the right) the accounts with the mobile vera alerts ID.
The first picture and what I think is your problem is the defaults tab on the left. If one or both are checked then it will by default send that person an alert even if you have another person checked in vera under that device.
Hi integlikewhoa,
Thank you for the reply. I have things set up as you sugest and following a few pm’s with richard we think the issue is related to the mobiles roms being a clone of one anouther and thus causing an issue with the google framework behind the scenes. I will update when in know for sure.

Thanks for the update. Good luck
Hi All,
Just an update - I believe things are now fixed.
It appears that when I backed up a rom on my phone and restored it to the other handset it caused issues with GCM system used to send alerts. despite all apps etc. all being registered correctly to the new user and all licencing matching correctly to the correct accounts the out come was that both phones were sharing the same GSM code.
I backed up my setting and rebuilt my phone from scratch (factory reset etc.) and now all seems to work as expected. I had hoped that I would have not had to do this hence why i cloned phones in the first place but hey how no major drama and really glad to get things working again.
Thanks to all for the help - really appreciated as always.
Glad that is sorted out … that was a strange problem.
Yup made me scratch my head also! It also turned out it effected my use with AutoVera also so glad for your help to identify the culprit and now all sorted I am pleased to have things back to how they were.
I must remember that some times the quick rout (in this case cloning a rom) is not always the best route and in the end also not the quickest. (e.g should have just built the other phone as required form scratch originality!)
