Hi all,
I’m gonna be re-piping a house in London and would love to introduce some Z Wave controlled zoning of the heating system (I’ll probably be using a Vera lite to start with)
I’m thinking that the most robust option may be to not use Z-Wave TRVs (e.g. Danfoss Living Connect) and instead install inline electronic valves (e.g. Horstmann Z222 http://bit.ly/1CjLxBJ) that can be triggered by a Zwave relay switch (e.g. Fibaro relay switch).
I would have standard Wax/liquid TRVs on each radiator allowing me to set the temp of each room manually - analog style!
The thing I like about this approach is that I can choose to say , switch on ‘floor 3’ from my homewave app - and know that the valve has opened instantly and water is flowing. I also like the fact that there will be no reliance on batteries as the valves will be mains powered.
What do you reckon? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
