i’m hoping that maybe one of the tech guys or some other smart person may be able to help me with this because i get no response from tech support after two open-ticket tries and several follow up emails. My Vera seems to be stuck in “Starting Zwave network” status when i go to the Dashboard screen. It worked fine for months, then i added another light timer and a motion sensor, worked for a week or so, but now its stuck hard in this status, i’ve rebooted several times, no luck. I’m on firmware .1350, dont and 3.2 zwave (think i saw that somewhere on the displays), did not do any firmware or upgrades, just seems to all of a sudden be acting up. Would try a heal process except the the vera is in a remote location, doesnt appear that you can do a heal remotely. I enabled ssh and logged in remotely to the console, but i’m not really sure what to look at to see why my zwave network wont start. Maybe its having trouble reaching my new motion sensor in the garage, i remember that i had to move it because the vera was having trouble reaching it when i first activated it. Could the inability to reach a single zwave device cause this zwave network startup failure? Thanks in advance for any information.
Do you by any change have a backup of your unit prior to the issue? How long ago did it start? You can probably get a backup from cp.mios.com and do a restore and making sure you also check restore zwave dongle.

the ‘automatically back up to mios’ box was checked, so maybe i lucked out here. I was able to download the backup from the dashboard menus and do the restore like you said (including the zwave restore). Didnt take that long and now it seems to all fine although one of my motion detectors reports as “tripped”, i think i have that motion detector just barely within reach of the unit so that may be the issue. I’ll see if it normalizes over the next hour or so. Anyway, many thanks garrettwp for your help. I only wish i knew what caused me to need to do the restore in the first place.
sometimes if I’ve been making changes and I end up with a sensor that is stuck on “tripped” I find it will have to be tripped by motion before it will reset on the UI, it’s a pain if I’m offsite.
i may have that condition that you describe. Everything looks back to normal now except for the Intermatic motion sensor that i brought up a month or so ago. After the restore of the vera, the motion sensor seems to be stuck on “tripped”, i thought it might stabilize after a few hours, but no luck. THe battery is reporting as 45% life left and the unit may be on the edge of being reachable by the vera, so when i get up to the site, i’ll replace the battery and see if it starts working again. I also have a 3-in-1 sensor, it acts up sometimes too where the light sensor shows as 0 percentage, but then it will go back to 30 or 40 after a while. The 3 or 4 lamp controls that i have with the vera really work well, but these sensors can be flaky. thx for your comments.
