zwave.me mtemp parameters

Hi,
I’ve bought a zwave.me temerature sensor (This one: http://www.vesternet.com/z-wave-me-temperature-binary-sensor) for my vera lite running UI5.
It’s set up as a D_TemperatureSensor1.xml.

The temperature reading is out by 3 degrees, but it looks like I can adjust it with a temperature shift (Parameter 7: http://www.vesternet.com/downloads/dl/file/id/236/z_wave_me_temperature_binary_sensor_manual.pdf).

I’m going into device options and adding a configuration setting with a variable of 7. If I leave the data size as default, it takes the configuration but there is no change. If I change the data size to anything else, the config fails.

Any suggestions?
Cheers
Paul.

What are you entering under Desired Value?

The Data Size for parameter 7 should be 1 byte dec.

I get a ‘Failed: Setting User Configuration’ when I change it to a 1 byte dec.

I have the value set to 20 as I want add another 2C to the temp.
I have also tried 2 and 4 byte dec’s, but get the same error.

Did you try clicking Configure node right now on the Settings tab and immediately waking up the device (single click on the tamper switch)? It sometimes takes a few attempts.

Yes, I usually do a Configure right now as I’m an impatient person!

I’ve also tried leaving it overnight to see if the config will take, but no success.

Are you able to set any of the other parameters?

Thanks very much for you suggestions RexBeckett.

Same problem with other parameters.
I’m starting to suspect that it’s got connectivity issues. I left it doing a heal earlier with parameter 7 set to 100, and it evidently took as the temperature went up significantly. However, I still saw a User Configuration error on the device.

I’ve got a couple more wired devices arriving in the next few days which will help with the network. I’ll give it another go then.

Yes it does sound like a connectivity issue. Adding a few more powered devices should strengthen the mesh and maybe that will solve your problem.
