Did a repair for the first time on my network (Setup->Z-Wave Settings->Repair) after installing a bunch of Fibaro switches. My Vera now gives me a “ZWave : Failed To Start” error message. I can not control any Z-Wave devices.
When I searched around it seems this error existed when upgrading UI2 to UI3. My vera runs UI5, FW 1.5.622.
What do to? I have opened a ticket, but with my earlier contact with MCV they took some time to respond.
Unplug Vera for an hour or longer (not exact) to it will start the ZWave network. If it keeps rebooting every minute (you should still be able to view the logs via your browser) due to a bad dongle state, you can:
Remove the batteries from your z-wave device one by one to you find Vera starting. If you go one by one, you should be able to find the exact device
Wait 12 hours and the device tend to give up their tantrum. Vera should boot up normally.

Unplugging the Vera did not help… I Do have several battery powered devices showing a “Device failed to configure” error message after the attempted heal, but why would this shut down the Z-Wave function altogether?
I will just have to hope that MCV get back to me soon. My house really depend on the Vera, and now everything must be controlled manually.

I have seen this happen. If you have several battery-powered sensor that have not configured it seems to destroy Vera’s ability to run the Z-Wave network. I was able to fix it by going round all the sensors in turn, waking them up and clicking the Configure node right now button on their device tile. It sometimes took more than one attempt. Once they were all configured, the network came back to life.
