I recently purchased the ZRTSI and although I don’t have my blinds yet, I decided to go ahead and pair all 16 nodes of the ZRTSI even thought I don’t plan on utilizing them initially.
I’m having trouble getting the nodes to pair with out getting in a never ending cycle.
I completed the following instructions to put it in factory default state:
FACTORY DEFAULT MODE
1.With the ZRTSI unplugged, press and hold the Z Button. Continue holding the button while plugging the unit into an outlet. Continue holding the Z-Buttonwhile the LEDs flash.
2. The ZRTSI is in Factory Default when theS-LED is green and the Z-LED is off.
I also went through and excluded all the Z-Wave channels with the Vera.
Then I started adding the channels individually through the manual include process (Hit the Z-Wave button on the Vera, changed the channel on the ZRTSI, plugged it in pressing the “S button” until the light turns yellow, then pressing the Z-button to include the channel.
A couple times it seemed like it wasn’t recognizing the include. After adding a couple, some of the earlier devices seemed to be going offline. Long story short, I hunted around on the internet and found a PDF on the automatedshadestore where it listed one process to include the “base node” and all the virtual nodes.
So I reset the device to factory settings, excluded all the z-wave channels (again) and tried the following process with Vera.
Pressed the Z-wave button on my Vera3, and followed the following instructions from the PDF:
AUTOMATICALLY ADDING THE BASE NODE AND ALL 16 VIRTUAL NODES PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS
1.Verify that the ZRTSI is not included in a ZWave network.
2.Enable the Listening Mode on the SIS Controller
3.Enable the ZWave Node Include Mode on the ZRTSI
A.With the ZRTSI unplugged, press and hold the S-Button.Continue holding the button while you plug in the ZRTSI. The S-LED will flash for about 6 seconds.
B.Release the S-Button after the S-LED turns solid yellow.
4.Press and Hold the Z-Button for about 3 seconds until the Z-LED begins to flash. The Base Node and 16 Virtual Nodes will be added to the SIS Controller. This process may take several minutes ant the Z-LED will flash rapidly from time to time.
5.The process is complete with the Z-LED stays solid red for 15 seconds or until all 16 virtual nodes appear in your SIS Control
After following those instructions, it only added the initial node and none of the virtual nodes.
After reading all of this…can anyone point out any suggestions or mistakes in order to get all the of nodes added? I attempted to rad the other threads and watched the you tube videos, but I haven’t uncovered any mistakes in my approach. I haven’t been this frustrated since I initially purchased my first Vera a couple years ago.
Would it make any difference if I initiated the include sequence through the UI vs manually pressing the button? Should this be added as a "secondary controller?? All feedback/advice welcome.
