ZIR000 - Cats now triggering motion sensor

I’ve had 4 of the ZIR000s in my house for a couple if years. In Armed mode, they trigger a number of lights, etc when tripped. Work great.

I have also had 2 cats in the house since the ZIR000s were installed. They have never tripped the sensors before.

Last night, while at a dinner, my motion sensors and Intruder Alert scenes started firing SMS and emails to me. Whipped out my iPhone and looked at the camera, only to see one of the cats sauntering through the Living Room. The cats were kittens when I first installed the sensors, so I wonder if they hit a “mass level” where they now trip the sensors.

I’m going to set the sensitivity of the sensors down to Low, but wanted to know what people’s experience as with pets and the ZIR000s?

There are many, many pet immune detectors on the market and they work perfectly - still detecting humans. You’d have to run them off of a transformer and wire it to a door contact that has dry contacts also. There is one out there, but can’t remember brand (not Aeon), but saw it on either ASI or Zwaveproducts, or Homeseer.

setting the ZIRs to Low fixed it. Cats got BIG in the last year…
