Does VERA2 support the z-wave multi-channel command class? and if so then if I have a dual light switch with multi-channel how does it appear on the VERA UI? Does it identify each device as a completely separate device?
Thanks for the help

Apparently Vera does support the Multi command class, however I have four MK Astral (LDU32u) Dual dimmers. These currently do not work with Vera, I can get an association and they show up in Vera as three switches.
MCV have informed me that all 4 of my Mk modules must be faulty and this is why I have the problems with Vera. They have closed my request for support ticket down and now ignore my emails.
Mk have informed me that the problem I currently have is an issue they have had with HomeSeer, a problem that both companies wanted to rectify and by a minor software alteration in the Homeseer software these are now fully supported.
Despite the MCV Guaranteed compatability statement they seem unintrested in resolving this issue.
From my experience and what I’ve read in these forums, MVC’s guaranteed compatibility claim is worthless. It’s never their fault, custom class blah blah.
To my surprise I have actually had a responce from MCV today, After emailing them to explain what I had been informed by MK that the Multi Gang switches required additional information from the server when making the association and that if the information was not provided by the server then the switches dont work!
I also informed them that this has been an issue for Homeseer and that the companies had worked together to resolve the issue and that the MK products are now fully compatable with Homeseer as the server software has been adapted to send the required informarion when creating the association.
MCV responded with “This proves that the MK products are all defective as the suppliers of the server software are having to make changes to the software in order for the products to be compatible”
I think I must have misunderstood the MCV Claim??? They Guarentee that the Vera 2 will work with all certified zwave products!!! This of course is unless you find a product that it wont work with out of the box and then MCV are not intrested.
They have now informed that have requested support from Sigma to prove that the MK products are defective. How can exceeding the minimum requirement for a standard be classed as a defect!
I think that the Vera 2 is a fantastic product with great pertential, I feel that If MCV put the same amount of effort into resolving the issues as they do defending the product and blaming others then issues like this would be resolved in half the time.
Well, impossible to say who’s right. Z-Wave is proprietary.
It seems that both Homeseer and MCV have issues with controlling the MK switches. That might indicate something is specific to MK and thus not standard. (But a vendor is probably allowed to do proprietary stuff, on top of the basics). You say information from MK was needed for Homeseer to make the switches work. That’s another indication.
Could still be that both Homeseer and MCV interpreted the standard wrong and MK did it right.
Homeseer was pragmatic and made it work.
MCV is not prepared to go that route (yet). They’re clearing up directly with Sigma who misinterpreted what.
Hey Guys
Just an update Vera now works with MK Astral products!!!
I have driven Aaron mad trying to resolve this but he did it, His initial answer that my MK products were defective was along the right track. When Vera associates it does a back to back set and get association.
The MK products must have a 1 second delay between the set and get associations to work, without this delay the switches become unstable and the associations will not stick. Once the switches have become unstable they need to be reset to factory setting prior to trying again.
During all the communications between MK and Micasaverde, MK neglected to pass this information on to Micasaverde. They informed me of this as a general comment during my last telephone conversation with them.
However all this aside the MK product is now supported and works great.
Thanks Aaron for your perseverance and hardwork
Hi Guys, I think this is the best place to post as I am a bit stuck.
I have just bought an MK Astral dimmer which is the first MK device I have on my network which up until now has been made up of mainly ACT ZDW232 units. Owing to the ACT units needing to go back to the USA every 6 months for mending I finally gave up and went up market.
I have the MK dimmer sat on the micasaverde network no problem but I am struggling with device associations. The MK documentation states that the switch will control up to 5 other devices but does t state how.
The ACT stuff is easy as you can add group 2 for instance and by double tapping the dimmer you have control of it… MK appears not to work the same way and I can’t find any documentation as to how you control these.
Can anyone assist???.
