Z-wave association issue

Hello,

I’m trying to associate an intermatic dimmer switch and a motion detector (HSM100) and i’m having some problems. I was definitely able to do this in the past, but it doesn’t seem to work now.

I am going to the dimmer, selecting “Custom Z-Wave Settings”. I create a group ID=1, I then press set and select the dimmer, and the motion detector under the combo device. I then save and let vera reload.

Unfortunately the light doesn’t go on with motion, and I’ve checked the custom z-wave commands for the HSM (things like light threshold etc).

The odd thing is that the dimmer shows as a red cog forever after I add the association. If I remove the association it goes green straight away.

Any ideas?

Maybe all the devices need to scene capable or asscociable with other devices

From the wiki:

To see if a device is scene capable and can work with a Leviton scene controller in Method #1, click the ‘+’ button next to the device, look at the “Capabilities” line and look for the number 44 after the | sign. If it’s there, the device is scene capable.

Not sure if this is the answer, just a thought

Capabilities show as : 209,140,0,4,17,1|38,39,114,115,133,134,

Another device (a plug in appliance module) which worked previously is : 201,4,0,3,16,0|32,37,39,114,134,

This worked previously but now shows the same error as the new module. So I think this is a bug introduced in the more recent versions.

Any other ideas??

Leviton notion of “scene capable” is something different and should not affect associating light switch to a motion sensor.

What device is it a HA06C, HA14C, or HA20C switch?

I’ve tried with a HA02C, which definately worked before but doesn’t work now.

And

HA20C which I just got

Now neither works…hmmm

Sounds like software :frowning:

Does MCV still read the forums? Or do I need to open another ticket?

Opened…lets see if I hear anything!
