Have been able to integrate new Australian Remotec Z-URC 550 to Vera 3 with UI5, but the Remotec bug is still happening. I can only add a scene to button 1 (on and off are working fine, also the all on & all off, although the dashboard gets confused from time to time).
Trouble is, as soon as I add a scene to any other button than 1, it starts playing up. I can add any scene to button 1 and it will work, but a second scene (i.e. using anything else but button 1) is causing the remote to go bonkers.
For info: dashboard shows “waiting for unit to wake up” and also when updating scenes using learning mode 8363 dashboard indicates that scene transfer has failed.
Is there a solution for the bug, a workaround, anything?
Thought I share an update with a work around which works.
I did not think that this will work, but surprisingly it does. You can add a controller to the remote without disconnecting it from the mash, steps you need to do
Remove remote from mash (conf+remove, 8363, Vera Device Advanced remove one)
Check that all remote scenes are not working (test on/off for 1-8, should give red error light)
Include remote to mash (conf+remove, 8363, Vera Device Advanced add one)
Include controller to remote (XpressZetup Add, Select Group and hit the z-wave button on the controller)
Now you can switch the controller with the remote as well as from the dashboard (or any other application). The controller is automatically added to the all on/off function of the remote.
Some more tips:
a) make sure that you have no scenes in the dashboard linked to the remote’s scene controller as this would overwrite your learned controlls if you pair the remote again with vera (8363)
b) when you add a new controller to vera mash later on, you need to sync the mash network again with the remote (conf+remove, 8363, Vera Device Advanced add one) and add the controller to the remote as well (step 4 above, do not remove remote from vera as you will loose all controllers set before)
c) complete the steps before you install the controller in the final location (i.e. in walls or difficult areas to get access to). This is important as you need access to the z-wave button on the controller to link it to the remote. (I had to do this with 2 wall mounted light switches as the bell button does not activate the sync required to include the controller to the remote)
I am not sure about the dashboard once you hit the all off button, the status of the devices is sometimes incorrectly displayed, but I am not too concerned about it as the appliance reacts correctly and reacts to vera scenes as programmed.
Certainly, would be great if the remotec bug in vera UI is solved, but this way you can at least use the remote to full capacity!
Hope this helps someone, have fun!
