So prove that it was tested. What was actually tested? Someone there should have a testing plan and or a script. There should also be a tracking log for bugs reported during testing.
There should also be release notes that outline the changes in the release.
Very simply did they test changing a device type and verify that it was not rediscovered by Alexa?
This seems like something that would be very easy to test.
The unresponsive device may take a little more effort but should see it after the recently added goes away.

It feels like you are constantly asking the community to debug your code.
I doubt that my configuration is that unique and complex.
I reiterate what did your QA department actually test?
Yes the skill links and yes Alexa finds devices and at that level that is base functionality that the developer should have proved. Testing involves trying things usually trying to ‘break’ it. Just because it compiles and works ‘golden path’ does not constitute QA testing.
