I have an existing electric undertile heating system installed in the kitchen floor. It is a WarmUp UK system and has the (2-door) TSTAT Thermostat on the wall.
Its a loose wire installation like this The programmable Thermostat on the wall is this one:
Now I know very little about home automation and HVAC, so looking for ideas and suggestions please on what if anything, I maybe able to do with this undertile heating system and integration with Vera / Z-wave ?
I have a Warm Up floor too, so I’m curious if anyone can come up with anything that could work with the existing set up (other than adding a on/off switch ).
My gut tells me we would need to go down a very different route, replacing the standard thermostat with some sort of relay/switch and 1 wire temp sensors etc.
But hopefully for both our sakes, someone will come up with something that would work…
Obviously I thought about adding a z-wave on/off switch but was hoping more might be possible. I’m not sure what is possible? But things like being able to turn it on/off, timed on/off with scenes, set the temp and be able to display the current temp in Vera would be desirable. No idea how to move forward with a project like this, so hoping the experts here can advise on possible options.
Have something similar at home with my floor heating, and tried to adapt/customize a danfoss living connect thermostate, unfortunately that will not work.
What I will do now is with an everspring temperature sensor and an on/off switch i will be able to change the temperature in the bathroom. I think you can set scenes and triggers when you recieve a certein temperature from the everspring. i.e. 15 degrees, heating must go on for 1 hour , 20 degrees, heating goes on for 10 minutes , 25 degrees , heating is off… etc. … I think something like this will work , although it is offcourse not very professional
There is some talk on the link below about electric under floor heating integration, but I didn’t really follow it. There seems to be very little on Google about this subject.
