I have just installed a Yale YRD210-ZW-619 Electronic Deadbolt with Z-Wave. I also just purchased the Vera3 and it looks like they have paired up correctly. I can see the device and when I click on the unlock and lock it actually communicates with the lock and performs the actions.
The issue I am having is that I want to receive a text when a specific pin code is entered on the Yale lock. I entered my phone information in my User Account settings and it works if I click on test notifications. I then go to the device configuration and Add notification for: when a pin is entered: PIN Code #1 then notify me. I also went to Pin Codes and entered the pin code for the Yale Lock (Master pin). However when I enter the master pin on the Yale lock to unlock the deadbolt I do not get any text notification.
Appreciate any help.
I have the exact same issue with 2 Yale Deadbolt locks. I have performed multiple exclusions/factory resets/inclusions without any improvement. I’ve performed inclusions with the Vera3 placed inches from the deadbolt, and left it there for 5-10 minutes.
I can correctly sense if a lock is locked or unlocked, and can remotely lock or unlock either lock. I can program PIN’s without problem. I get appropriate ‘lock failed’ notifications from both locks (e.g. when door isn’t closed all the way upon locking), and battery low notification from one but not another lock. I have scenes with door sensors that work to automatically lock both locks. I get no notifications for PIN entry from either lock.
Sorry that your having the same problem…very frustrating. Another think I’ve noticed is if I enter a pin and have the checkbox checked to save it will disappear if I navigate to another part of the UI and come back. I’m assuming these pins are what I’ve already programmed via the Yale lock…correct?. Can you actually enter a pin in Vera and have it work in the Yale lock as a user pin?
I’ll trying giving Vera technical support a call and see if they can assist. The whole reason I bought the Vera3 was to be able to receive a text whenever a specific PIN code was entered into the Yale lock on a specific door.
I’ve been having that problem with Schlage locks as well. I set up notifications for every pin code and wasn’t getting them. I downgraded to UI5 and was getting them for a few minutes - until my Vera Lite force-upgraded itself back to UI6. I just got Vera to remove the forced upgrade link on my account and am now downgrading again; I’ll let you know if that is the fix.
** Update - got it working ***
Firmware: 1.6.641 (Vera3 indicated latest)
Thought I’d give an update. I tried to get a hold of micasaverde technical support but they were busy so I forged ahead. Someone else on a separate thread had recommended doing a full factory reset on the Yale lock. I had already previously entered a Master code and also entered one user pin via the Yale interface originally. When I originally did that I thought that is how the Yale pins had to be entered and then essentially “referenced” in the Vera3 interface…may have been one of my original problems. I wasn’t clear on whether the Vera 3 interface could actually create the PIN codes but now I realize that is the case.
So I actually reset the Yale lock and deleted the device from my Vera3. Once I put the batteries back in the Yale lock I went to add the device to my Vera3. I didn’t get the chance to press the Z-Wave button on the Vera3 device…the Vera3 detected it automatically and added it as a device…so much for the instructions.
I went to the device and added a couple user pins (via Vera3). I then went to the notifications in Vera3 and added notifications for the user pins (email and text). This may have been my original mistake also. earlier I had just added the notifications…I had not also added a “scene” that was tied to the notification. I thought you didn’t need a scene and the notification would be enough. Anyway, once I added a scene and entered the user code on the lock I did receive the text message on my phone which told me the specific pin code (name) that I had set up. This is what I wanted it to do to let me know whenever a specific person (pin) unlocked a specific door.
Hope this helps. I can confirm that the Yale lock (YRD210-ZW-619) with the Vera 3 firmware (above) does work.
Update: That fixed it for me, if you can’t get Gottvera1’s fix to work, perhaps a downgrade might work for you.
