I got the Yale Real Living lock with the stater kit Vera. Everything works, but I’m wondering if I can get it to log mechanical events? I would like to know when the door is locked/unlocked by ANY means (not just code). Is this possible?
I have 2 Yale locks. There is a trigger for “Whenever Front Door Yale Lock…A door is locked or unlocked”. I have never used it though and it might not trigger if the lock is manually turned from the inside, although it may… This may trigger on the use of a Key also, all speculation though. Do you have a door switch to monitor the state of the actual door? I have one on every exterior door this way I can always be notified if someone opens the door from the inside.
I will try the notifications. I can attest that the key events are not shown in the logs, which is disappointing. Not sure if there is a setting I can change.
Ok, I see that now…I had them added, but the Vera interface is a little silly because it has a “greyed out” checkbox beside the notification name. I thought that meant it was active, but it actually means that its unchecked. You have to click it and it becomes “ungreyed”.
For some reason also; the same notification appeared twice.
Yes, I will install sensors (I think I got some with the kit), either motion or door opening sensors.
EventWatcher logs the changes (and whose pin code is entered) if you enable locks to be monitored…
Thanks! I will try this right away!
OK: I installed it from the app store; and it seemed to go OK, but any time I click on any of its links I get an error:
ERROR:Module not found:port_3480
Any suggestions?
I think may be a UI7 issue. Also I have updated to a version newer than the app store, I think.

One cool thing is that you can set EventWatcher to log the lock (and other) changes to a syslog server…
Yes, you are right; I think the way the MIOS (cloud) servers work, it may not work for this plugin with UI7. I created a port forwarding rule on my router to let me get right at the Vera unit without the cloud interchange, and I can see eventViewer now…
I can’t see how to configure it though or how to setup variables for monitoring.
