Yale Deadbolt no longer pairs with Vera

With the Deadbolt nearly touching the Vera, I cannot get them to pair anymore.
The lock dropped from the network after a heal, and now it won’t come back no matter what I do.
I factory reset my Vera and it still won’t add.

Have you tried to excluded it first?

I tried that yes. The lock already thinks it’s excluded so I can’t tell the lock to exclude.
Reset the Vera to factory settings and still doesn’t work. I’ve also contacted Yale Tech Support.

Reset lock to factory settings. I had to do that when I changed Vera’s.

Okay, so all of a sudden, the lock said gave me a low battery indication and when I replaced the battery it worked.
I’m hoping the battery isn’t getting overworked by the new 420 firmware. :frowning:

Replaced the batteries with NiMH rechargables. Let’s see how long they last. The ones they gave me only lasted 2 months but the charge seemed steady at first.

If Vera is healing your network every night - that might explain the battery performance issues…

How do I prevent it from healing every night? And is that a bad idea?

Yale support called me today (the day I left a message) and basically said the battery should last a year. I’m assuming that is without any radio transmissions.
When I first got the lock, the battery life seemed very stable. I hope the 420 update didn’t make things worse. :frowning:

Well, I disabled mine.
I would only recommend disabling it if your network is stable and running well.

Anyways, go to setup–> Z-wave settings and disable the option “Use Vera routing instead of Z-Wave (requires 4.5)”.
This will prevent the nightly heal.

Currently stable. What side effect does disabling it have?

No side effects.
If you add nodes etc or something does not appear to be right or responds quick enough you can always trigger a manual heal.
