That is what is expected.

The proxy does not accelerate detection of a off device. As you noticed, it is even less fast. The benefits of the proxy are elsewhere:

  1. immediate update of the plugin when something changes in the renderer (play state, media info, …).
  2. no poll of data every 15 s causing unnecessary activity in the vers.
