btw great thing !! this is worth some bucks for the awesome idea and getting it done.
i use the play,pause,resume,stop event for the TV backlight
and the music_play, video_play to turn on the amplifier
and check with the vera if something play, before execute the “sleep mode scene” at 2am in the night (kind of anoying if watch somethings at late night and the vera shuts off everything in the middle, xbmc addon solves that)
the problem not the vera part, i ts sure the xbmc addon.
it always works after the appletv does reboot,
but many times after the first time “play” on a video event it does nothing,
today i noticed a error show up on xbmc (addon micasaverde.addon failed)
after this it does not submit anything anymore till restart XBMC …
i’m not so sure how to “log” the errors.

could you please if you able to transfert your topic to the xbmc addon, i will have less difficulty to response and help you in that topic, and if it a bug that everyone suffer, they will also be able to help resolve it. thanks.
Now for the problem, first thing, there a debug in the addon menu that will show in the log all command sent by the plugin. Second, are you able to access your log file in your Apple TV, if so are you able to send it to me, I use xbmc addon every day and never ran in this situation but i use windows 8. If you check on the first post of the topic i did not test it on Apple TV, I have a ipad with xbmc and try it but it was not woking, every os need some specific command. With the log file of your appletv i will probably know what apple tv dont like, I know that if the addon give an error to xbmc, xbmc close the addon so that why when you reboot it, it work.
