X-10 light modules

I currently use Homeseer on my laptop (sparingly) to control a few lights with x-10 modules. We have now added on to our house and want to expand the automation. As I was exploring this idea, I came across Vera2. I am intruigued by the apparent simplicity and the ease of web acces via my iPad. I also like the fact that it is wireless. (We currently have a Sonos wireless sound system and that has convinced me wireless is the way to go.)

It appears the primary interface is zwave however I have only x10 devices. Does Vera have the ability to control x10 devices and if so, what do I need in order to do so? (I don’t want to buy all new devices if I don’t have to.)

Thanks,

Don

Vera can interface with X-10 but it's only one way with Vera controlling the device. Currently (UI4) Vera can't see if an X-10 device has been toggled, so you can't use an X-10 device as a trigger.

What you will need is a PLM, I believe there are 3 models (in both USB and Serial) 2412 (functional but discontinued) 2413 & 2414. I believe it’s the 2414 model that does not work with Vera. PLM cost ~$79

JOD.

An alternative that requires [tt]mochad[/tt] and an USB-X10 bridge:
