Wrong Device type

I’m pretty new to this so if what I have checked and discovered is irrelevant - just say so.

I’ve got a Vera 3 and a FDN2100 by Nanogird
This claims it is a temperature sensor and dimmable light. However when it gets added to the Vera 3 it shows up as an _Appliance device with device type
urn:schemas-upnp-org:device:BinaryLight:1
and a second device called _Generic IO with device type
urn:schemas-micasaverde-com:device:GenericIO:1
This second device is “controlled via” the first device - so that appears to match

So my problem is the device types detected/registered are wrong
I guessed that maybe I could change them (and since I have a dimmer switch and a temperature sensor which registered correctly - I tried copying the device types)

The temperature sensor to urn:schemas-micasaverde-com:device:TemperatureSensor:1 ad the dimmer to
urn:schemas-upnp-org:device:DimmableLight:1

Unfortunately this does not seem to save - in that I press that large red save after making the changes - and the screen updates correctly (ie I have a temperature sensor reading with a resonable temperature ) and I have a dimmable light switch
BUT after a short time (or when I press reload ) it all reverts back to the incorrect device types

Is this a manufacture problem? (Which means I’m stuffed as its a mailorder from a Korean Manufacturer)
I guess the one last thing is this is an Australian version

Hello,

With theses the temp sensor just needs to be modified to reflect:

device_type = urn:schemas-micasaverde-com:device:TemperatureSensor:1
device_file to = D_TemperatureSensor1.xml

Once you click save and it restart it will update to reflect the correct details.

Which means I'm stuffed as its a mailorder from a Korean Manufacturer
Where did you order this form?

Awesome thank you, I’d missed the device_file bit - its probably obvious but just in case someone else reads this I needed to clear the Automatically configure as well.

I’m going to try fix the dimmer stuff now

To answer your question I ordered it off diyhomeautomation - (I’ve sent this question to them, the manufacturers and here)
They look nice and the inbuilt temperature sensor seemed useful.

oh maybe I dont have to set the Automatically configure device - I’m a little confused - first it didnt seem to save but now it is

You should not need to change Automatically configure and could be left at “Use default behaviour”
