I have a vera edge and an iphone and android phone. I setup a geofence around my house and checked the “this is my house” box. I also checked the 2 boxes in the modes screen that should change me from home to away and back automatically. I have 2 users, my wife and myself with the app installed on both phones. However it does not change the mode when I leave or come home. Am I missing something? Does this work for anybody else?
I have no idea how to debug this.
Hi Cossiemodo, I tried this too and did not have any success. It also was responsible for changing my house modes at random from Home to Away. It did this while I was at home. This was a BIG issue as I set it to close security shutters when I was away and it locked my wife in the kitchen
I was then unable to open the shutter with the app and had to manually wire the Fibaro switch to open the shutter.
When I uninstalled the Android app the problem went away although the rest of the GUI in Ui7 is still very buggy.
I am reliably informed there will be a software update at the end of January, but this is firmware and not the app. This will be for the Edge.
I am looking forward to this release but with some trepidation as there are quite a few issues to deal with.
Interesting, I’ll have to try removing it from her phone tonight and see if it works when I leave tomorrow.
Did you solve the issue?
Thanks

My understanding is Geofencing with the firmware is VERY buggy. I had it working for ONE person. Two probably takes a human sacrifice. There are some workarounds that are beyond my capabilities. I believe it is still bugged with the latest firmware.
At this time the geofencing function only works for 1 person (phone). Make sure to set the radius to at least 100 meters and ensure that GPS on your phone is active and the Vera app has access to it.
At this time it is about 70 to 80% reliable for me. I boosted up the percentage to 95% by backing it up with presence detection on my DD-WRT router. (check the forums). This detects when my phone connects or disconnects to my WiFi router and runs a script to switch house modes as well as arm/disarm sensors and other functions.
So if Geo fencing fails, the DD-WRT presence the vast majority of the times will provide backup.
