Hi all!
I’m looking for a remote controller for my vera lite.
I can’t find something good using zwave, so I thought maybe something compatible with the RFXtrx exist.
Do you have any advice for a small remote controller? I would need a remote with around 6 buttons to start some scenes. (The remote would be used by the babysitter etc.)
I was looking into this, but it appears to be NOT compatible with vera : BENEXT Télécommande 7 boutons Z-Wave Scene Controller
IR is not a decent option for me btw.
I would have a look at the insteon solutions. For example, the remotelinc. You’ll need a ISY controller though. Or try and get altsteon going. The initial cost may be a little more than some want to take on, but you can expand on additional insteon devices.

About chacon, I read somewhere that chacon devices will send to much garbage on the RF frequencies and it is to be avoided. ???
The Chacon remotes and switches do NOT transmit garbage! (if you do not hold the button)
Chacon door/windows sensors transmit for 3 to 5 seconds RF. This can give problems if you trigger an event in a HA system that transmit RF. So Chacon remotes can be used.

but how would I bind a scene to a chacon remote button?
would the rfxtrx create a device when I push a button of the remote?? then I can monitor the status of that device maybe?
