Agree with this, though it’s still not perfect for geofencing, but I think that’s the fault of the iPhone, not the app.
I use veramate solely for geofencing and homewave for everything else. Homewave is fantastic. The only downside is also it’s best feature–it’s totally customizable, so takes a fair amount of work to set up and it’s a continual work in process from an aesthetic perspective. I’d love to see basic skins/setups that you could select and then modify, like altUI. That may just be a reflection of me being creatively challenged! There’s a thread you can look at to see what others have done, which is great.
I’ve found veramate does a really good job too, similar story with the setup time, it can take a lot of fiddling to get it how you want it.
I’m not a big fan of in-app geofencing because it’s chews through way too much battery power for my liking. I’ve found the iphone locator plugin seems to do the job much more efficiently. Push notifications via VeraAlerts also work really well.
I’ll definitely try out homewave at some point, but for now, I’m perfectly happy with VeraMate + VeraAlerts + iPhone Locator.
The Beta MCV app is also worthy of a mention, not really in the same league as VeraMate & Homewave, but it’s more useable than I’d expected.
I use vera alerts as well, but get my pop-up notifications through the home wave app. I like it better than the prowl or native notifications[/quote]
I haven’t tried it. Does it keep a log and time stamps for those notifications? To look back say yesterday and see what time a certain notification was sent?
I have homewave, Vera mate and Imperihome. I like homewave the best. Imperihome and veramate are good but I like the custonization that homewave offers. The one downside as others have mentioned it the time it takes to customize everything.
