Where to start (walkthrough that actually work?)

Hi all,
I’m new to Vera and I am a developer.
I would like to create an interface with an existing bticino own (open web net) system (http://www.myopen-legrandgroup.com/).
I already made a monitoring interface running in java that simplifies the work (would have been to heavy doing that in luup in my opinion).
I can query it and get a light status or turn it on/off with simple commands.

First of course I want to start at the beginning and make a small plugin that would only turn on/off only one light and get its status.

I’ve made some research on the forum but I can’t find a working example.
The somfy walkthrough (http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Luup_Somfy_Walkthrough) looks out of date (early steps won’t work) and it seems to match an older version of the UI. Many wiki articles are not clear regarding for which version of the UI they were written, so that follow some simple looking steps just won’t do.

I tried to download some xml files from various plugins but it is still all very confusing.

My question is : what is a good up-to-date starting point? If only I could have a working plugin that creates a light device and turns it on/off (even if it’s a dummy on/off and the setTarget does nothing “real”) that would be great!

Thanks for any help!
Michel

Use the Virtual Switch plugin as an example.

Hi Michel,

Nice to have a bt user here!
I m a myhome bticino user too!
But I have not the skills to develop this kind of plugin.
I just did manage to control a light with luup.

But I would love to have a full integration of myhome and vera.
So if I can help with testing let me know!

I have lightning, shades, heating and music from bticino.

Thank you Richard.

JP: I know your name from the btcino forum
I will share when I got stuff actually working
