"Feature #3 - UI7 compatibility assured for ?Vera most used plugins?

…and PLEG is not listed!!! This is a joke, right?

PLEG is to complicated for the VERA team it’s going to take a few more years for a full understanding and implementation.

That is a lot of features to put out and bugs to squash. I would have liked to see a few more things listed from apps, but this is very promising. Not only did they fix stuff, but they also added features. Kudos to the Vera team!

I can confirm the WiFi, and network settings now is able to save (button works). Thats already a big step

I’m sorry, but most of us have a different POV: It just proves that UI7 continues to be beta software that never should have been advertised/released as production code.

Anyone an idea how usb will work now? I plugge din the RFxCom and still have the message:
Serial Port configuration
If you connected the USB/serial device and it’s not displayed here, reload Luup.
Not available

The serial USB does not work with this upgrade. It is still listed as outstanding item that needs to be fixed.

So no alarm panels or anything that uses a USB to serial adapter then?

Now if only my Vera 3 could actually find the update. Why don’t they just post links to the file along with the auto update that doesn’t actually work?

Is there an update for the Vera 3? This is an update for the Edge. I think if it was the same software we wouldn’t have Wifi/usb problems.

Still, why is it the nbr 1 fix on the list with 113 fixes.
I will reinitiate my support call

Please keep us updated on this. I have yet to plug in my USB to serial. I wonder if nothing works or if only certain devices work? Sounds like along with your call we need a few more people to test different usb devices.

I have tested the USB-serial Prolific - PL-2303, which is listed as a supportive device and works fine on V2. I have also tested USB-serial FTDI which also listed as a supportive device and works on V2. Neither of them work with the VeraEdge Firmware 1.7.906.

VeraEdge acting strangely after update. I only have about 5 devices configured so far, but dashboard tells me “143 devices are no longer connected” and the number’s climbing. Devices page shows a huge number of “_Scene controller” and “_Generic IO” devices.

Haven’t rebooted yet, trying that next.

Mike.

Lost my motion detectors and receptacles after update+reboot. Sonos still there, VeraAlerts, and a virtual device set up for temperature.

Might want to hold off on this upgrade?

1.7.906 lets me finally set a static ip for VeraEdge but I don’t see a way to connect wirelessly to my LAN’s wifi access point. Maybe I am missing something?

UI7 is so friggin’ raw it’s going drive us all to drink :frowning: .

I agree, being a wifi client makes more sense, most people buying one of these have real wireless access points already, though I prefer directly being plugged into the router myself

but at least static ip, disabling dhcp server and wifi has been corrected in this release
