Like too use door sensors that connect too vera. 7 different entrances in the business. What is the cheapest effective door sensors out there? Main thing is too be able to get a txt message with the door name when no one is there at night. What are the max effective ranges for these?
Verizon router in the business excellent wifi connection anywhere in the place (8,500 sqft) Figure for connection issues try to center the vera as close to the center of the building as possible.
There are already several threads on door sensors - you should read those if you want ‘depth’ of info, and ask specific questions in those threads.
I use Schlage - they work well for me.
Zwave range varies based on your building/materials/etc… n one can tell you how your setup will performce - again already MANY discussions/posts on this
And, sending the door name… this is based on your Scene creation. Sound like you need to do a bunch of reading/learning on how to create scenes in Vera.
… I’m not trying to be mean but your questions have been discussed MANY times in this forum. A few quick searches should provide you more than enough info. If you have SPECIFIC questions you cannot find answers to then definitely post… but so far you just need to learn the basics of your system.
Do you have an alarm system? I would think it would be cheaper to use a DSC alarm system with an envisalink connected to Vera. You could add motion, fire or whatever else.
ok sounds good. Will continue reading posted that before I noticed all the threads. Need to figure out what is the best route too go first. Tons of knowledge here! Ordered a Vera lite so I guess thats the first step and I will play with it from there.
