What is "Secure your Vera"

Just got my VeraLite and a couple of fibaro relays. Having fun setting up ad playing around.

I notice on SETUP>UNIT SETTINGS> there is an option that says “Do you want to secure this Vera?”

What does this do?

This just adds a username / password authentication on the Web UI. This does not complete secure your vera as the authentication is done in plain text and api interface is still accessible to all 3rd party apps.

Thanks. So its just to try and stop people no your LAN getting in?

It only prevents people from accessing the web interface on your local network. It will not prevent people from using the 3rd party vera apps to access your system.
