What custom icons do YOU use?

Version 8 of VeraMate is here (yay!) but unfortunately no new room icons (noo!).

I would really like some better looking room icons, that matches the icons under “My Home”.

The best looking icons for different rooms I have found is these http://www.guifx.com/icons/rooms-and-zones, but for ~$300 I assume they are more for developers.

Are you all using VeraMates included icons for your different rooms? Have anybody some suggestions for some nicer icons?

They do look quite nice :slight_smile: And yes a little pricey for indie developers :confused: My other dilemma is whether to try and find all “flat” icons which is the current styling design (Apple, Microsoft, etc etc).

That being said… I prefer people to have what they want rather then what companies decide they should have :slight_smile:

I haven’t had any new “community packages” submitted, but will be curious too whether others are using the extra package functionality. I assume you know there are some extra icons available via the download option in the icon page?

I wonder how many would be inclined to pay a couple cents for a better icon package… I doubt there’ll be enough to make up the cost of the package itself, but, might make take out less of a chunk :slight_smile:

I really appreciated the option of downloading additional icon packs! Some where very nice, but I still miss some icons for different types of rooms (like hallway, attic, cellar, kids room, balcony etc.).

I’m one of those people for which a nice and matching GUI really matters. It is also important considering WAF. :wink:

Considering that the icons used is so important for the overall impression of the app I would really like a better icon package. Preferable included from the start in app, but if you can’t get it to work economically (with revenues from the paid version) a in-app purchase would also work! :wink:

Personally, I really like the icons that are included by default. But I agree, a couple more room specific icons could be used.

The new icon pack is NOT avaliable. See attached screen shot.

Hmm. Could you try again tomorrow (possibly restart the app)? I’m seeing some purchases go through, so some users are getting them. I know the appstore rolls out new updates slowly across different timezones, which is a bit annoying, but I think this is why some don’t have the information come through yet.

Hmm… Still not avaliable. Veramate version 8.3.1.2.

Uninstalled my VeraMate Free and bought VeraMate Premium. Then I could download the icon pack. Nice!

VERY nice app with the new icons!

Now we just want the option of making a backup that includes all changed icons!

Still not quite sure why some weren’t able to download the icons properly, but as I’ve overvalidated it somewhere, I’ve made a change to 8.4 which should still allow the download.

… and, still working on the backup option :slight_smile:

Really weird. Now I can?t seem to download the icons on my iPad, even though I now bought both the VeraMate Premium app (not just the in-app purchase in the free version like before) and the icon set on my iPhone 5.

Are you getting an error message? Does it show the screen allowing you to choose to “restore” or “buy” - as if you’ve already purchased, a restore should bring them down again…
