Trying to convince myself to pull the trigger on the Vera Plus but not sure if having BT or Zigbee would benefit me. Tried to google BT automation but nothing much came up.
What are some of the things we can do with BT?

It will really depend on what Vera supports at release.
I backed the Almond+ originally and it had Zwave, Zigbee, and 802.11ac all in one. It sounded great. However, their software/firmware did not support much and still is limited years later.
What I’m getting at is that devices can be listed here, but until Vera lets us know, it’s not worth mentioning much.
that’s very true and I do realize that. But if vera deosn’t support certain things but a genius here can come up with a plugin for it then it would be feasible.
For instance, when I read BT, I thought what would be really cool is if I can add a BT Mic centrally located for voice controls. Or another scenario would be a BT speaker/mic set at the entry door for intercom.
Was looking for the possible future of what if more than a firm answer.
You want a microphone paired with Vera over Bluetooth for what? So that people at the front door can speak to Vera; or so that you can have a two way conversation with the people at the front door via your Vera app? While the latter case is remotely possible, it is highly unlikely that Vera will be able to do what you want here. Certainly Vera won’t do it well, rather like IP cameras today.
Much more probable Vera-Bluetooth scenarios will be things like these Wimoto sensors, and possibly detection of the very similar Tile locator. With a yet to be developed plugin, it may even be possible to do presence detection, where Vera “sees” your phone via Bluetooth and knows that you are there.
