Yeah, I could do that, but the door is a 8.5 feet tall oversized wood door. So basically, around 800$ to 1000$ to get another one if it’s not more. That will be my last choice if I don’t have any other options…[/quote]
Well you don’t have any z-wave Lock options that fit that. That’s a given.
So leaves only 3 options I see so far.

Modify your door to fit a normal lock. Since it’s wood I don’t think this is impossible to fill and redrill.

To scrap the Z-wave lock Idea.
Now #3 can mean 2 things. Forget about it completely (as most of us have done on our sliding doors) or since your using a commercial building type lock I’m thinking you can use a magnetic striker (like in buildings where they buzz you in) on the frame side. Your style of door lock is made for that. Nothing on the door would change.

After you got that hooked up then all you need is a away to open it from the outside. For me right now I’m playing with Arduino interfaced to VERA. For about about 30.00 you can get an Arduino board (uno, Nano, Or micro) and a RFID reader with cards or use your NFC phone to open the door. You can also use a keypad mounded with the RFID reader for both options.
The Arduino plugs into Vera VIA usb or Ardunio can be plugged into the network and VERA just needs the IP address. There is a plugin for Arduino to work in VERA. And once that is installed and connection made you can have VERA use it like any other Z-wave device. Log, auto lock, unlock, unlock threw a VERA app or what ever.
