WDTC-20 set it up as a thermostat, or as a binary switch?

Any thoughts on which way is better to set up the Wayne Dalton thermostat?

I currently set it up as a thermostat, but I guess the Vera GUI doesn’t handle it fully.

I can’t feed it heat setpoints, as it says the device can’t handle the service.

Help!

Thanks!

Are you on the 1.1.x firmware? I believe that thermostats are not supported on that version yet. I know my Trane unit works fine on the later 1.0.x builds, but I get the same error you are getting on the 1.1.x builds.

Yes, I am running 1.1.213. Thanks for the thread.

It doesn’t show the current or set point temps on the computer screen, yet it does in the iphone app.

However, I can’t feed any set points through iphone either.

The WIKI mentions: the set point has to be set on the thermostat itself.

(This was for the WDTC-20).

I don’t think there is a workaround for this yet.

The new beta firmware does not support the WDTC-20’s yet. The next release should support it.

I am on the latest release of ui3, and I just added my new WDTC-20s… they come up as Appliance Modules and not Thermostats. IS this because they are not supported yet, or is there some extra configuring I have to do?

No its supported under the latest revision of UI3. When you add the WDTC you have to click the button quickly on the WDTC or it will show up as a binary switch.

Ok, I will remove then re-add them… but could you tell me what you mean by ‘click the button quickly’? Also, with UI3 and Vera2, can you tell me how I remove something without wiping/reseting it, and then doing a ‘remove dead node’? My apologies to the community for all the support requests tonight :frowning:

EDIT: I found the instructions for removing a node for the Vera2… you have to hold down the Zwave button for 5 seconds. Doh! Also, I figured out what you mean by pressing the button ‘quickly’… thank you for your help!
