I have 5 of the Fortrezz leak detectors and they use 2 AA batteries.
No issues with losing communication, one unit did need batteries replaced after testing 6 months.
I had done some testing with this unit and then it detected a leak from my washing machine… ;D
The other units batteries are doing fine.
They do recommend sealing the screws with silicon.
For clarification - the old FortrezZ WWA-01 model used a single 3.6V 1/2AA Lithium type battery, but was smaller. The new FortrezZ WWA-01AA now uses two regular 1.5V AA Alkaline batteries and is larger in size to accommodate the batteries.
