Water heater control via contactor

I recently purchased a couple Intermatic Z-wave CA3500 outlets. My plan was to use one to “suppress” my water heater from operating. That means, when the outlet is on, the water heater will be off. This is a failsafe design to prevent failure of the outlet or the connected contactor from disabling the water heater.

To do this, I need a 40 or 50-amp normally-closed contactor with 120V coil. Does anyone know where I can find one? I’ve poked around on the internet, and most are upwards of $70.

For $50.00 http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/MAGNECRAFT-Relay-6CUT4?Pid=search

Excellent, that’s what I’m looking for, thanks.

It helped to know to look for a DPDT contactor. I looked for “normally closed” and for “reverse,” but DPDT was what I needed.

When I looked, I realized that the breaker for the WH is only 30 amps, so I’ve ordered one of these:

Graingers had some cheaper ones in the 30A range … put I thought you need 40A.

Yes, that’s what I originally spec’d… but I had to place an Amazon order anyway.
