Does anyone know of any support for Wanscam cameras, specifically the HW0023 camera? I have one on order to use with Blue Iris so I’m assuming I can sort out motion detection notification, etc., via that path but i’m curious if anyone has implemented any Wanscam products directly with VERA.
If the camera allows to access the jpg image via a url, you should be able to add it to vera. As for other options like pan tilt, etc would need to be modified for the camera implementation file.

It looks like it does. When i get the camera I’ll fiddle and post my results.
Thanks
I just received an outdoor Wanscam. Not sure about the model number. There’s a sticker on the back marjing it as JW0011.
I changed the port from it’s default 99 to 80 and the Foscam plugin recognizes it and after changes state to 2 even creates a sensor icon.
Having some trouble getting the picture though as it complains about a user ID and password. I found a lot of useful info on Connect to Wanscam cameras and am still tinkering with it.
The URL for the image is http://IPADDRESS/snapshot.cgi?user=[USERNAME]&pwd=[PASSWORD] (replace {XXX} with correct values and it will show in the browser. When used without it will prompt.
I’ve gotten it working in Blue Iris using the Foscam MJPEG (No PTZ/No Audio) driver so I should be able to get it to work on Vera. No luck so far with getting an image. Vere says it needs a userid/password. Which I’ve set same as for my Foscams.

FYI, I have it running in Blue Iris using the definition for the Wanscam HW00021/JW0008 and I get a real time image in BI. I do not yet have the motion controls working in BI but I’m still fiddling.
I also had it working directly in Vera using the DVR Plug In pointed directly at the camera for a short while using the image URL as either http://IPADDRESS/snapshot.cgi?user=[USERNAME]&pwd=[PASSWORD] or http://IPADDRESS/livestream.cgi?user=[USERNAME]&pwd=[PASSWORD], both seemed to work. In this case in Vera the image shows in the thumbnail but if I select “View” it goes away. The camera is configured as 1280x720 so that might have something to do with it, I haven’t tried anything elsesuch as 640x480 yet.
Thus far I am unable to get Vera to talk to BI using the DVR Plug In pointed at Blue Iris; I haven’t figured that one out yet. Nothing I tell it seems to make any difference, it always says “Camera URL Invalid”
I was thinking of getting one as well, how is the picture quality, focus, ptz ?
Price is spot on though
Thanks for any info
