Wall switch not responding

I have an Intermatic (Home Settings brand name) HA-18 wall switch that I can turn on and off from Vera but I never get a response back from the switch so I get the dreaded “red gear” nor do I know the current state of the switch.

Any ideas?

running the latest vera firmware.

Try taking the dongle to the switch and reset it. Plug the dongle in vera so it removes it from the devices. Then try re-adding it
