Excuse me if this has been posted and answered somewhere before, I have searched and could not find it. Perhaps I am not using the proper terminology to search.

I have a few VRI06, what I would like to do is when I press the switch to turn the lights off, I would like it to dim the lights to 50% and then turn them off 15 seconds later, or simply turn off the light after 15 seconds and forgo the dim part.

Is the best way to do this with a scene? Lua code? Special setting somewhere?

There is no way to configure this switches locally attached load to delay turn off.

You can use a scene that has a delayed turn off or a dim then off delay. But, pressing the switch’s paddle will always result in immediate action on the locally attached load.

What about when pressing the switch, is there any way to have the light instant on instead of the ramp up?

Yes. According to the manual’s copious 2 pages, the “fade rate” can be configured, with the fade taking from 0(instant) to as long as 25 seconds. That’s much longer than I expected. Perhaps the extended fade will meet your delayed off desire.
