I have spent the weekend going from Vera1 UI3 to Vera2 UI4 (firmware 1.1.1047). UI4 seems to be much better on how it works, but I am having a really hard time making 2 x VRCS2-MR work correctly.
One UI2/UI3, in order to pair this devices, you needed to follow this instructions as provided on a post by ASIHome:
2-Button: Once you wire up and power on the controller, the top button will control the top load and the bottom button will control the bottom load.Using a Leviton handheld to learn it in, you include it as a combo device (if you have newer firmware) or a controller by pressing and holding both buttons until the LEDs turn amber. After it is learned in as controller, it will ask you to press each of the buttons one at a time to learn in the switches. Once this is done you can set the associations and make the buttons control the loads and areas or just areas or any combo in-between.
On UI4, once you have Vera2 on inclusion mode (by pressing the Zwave button on the back of Vera2), and you press and hold the 2 buttons on the Scene Controller (VRCS2-MR) unitl the LED’s blink amber, Vera2 goes through the inclusion process and recognizes the scene controller as well as the 2 local switches all at once.
My problem is when associating Scenes to the switches. I am using the local loads of the VRCS2 units, so (as I did on UI3), I created 4 different scenes, each one of them to allow me to turn on the local load by pressing the physical switch. If I press the physical button on the VRCS2, the load turns on, but the LED on the physical switch does not reflect the correct load status (on/off), so once the load is on, I cannot turn it off by pressing the physical button unless I press it multiple times.
I also tried the same thing from the web interface, so I turn on the local load of the VRCS2, and the light connected to it work properly (it turns on), but the LED on the physical switch does not reflect the correct status of the load.
I have had this same controllers working properly with Vera1 UI3, so I know that they are working properly. Has anyone else encounter this problem with Vera2 UI4 (1.1.1047)? I have exclude/include the scene controllers multiple times, I have repaired the Zwave network via the Advance option of the Toolbox, and nothing seems to work, the problem repeats itself every time.
I am short of ideas, and I cannot find anything online that signals an incompatibility between the VRCS2 and the Vera2 UI4, all I know is that the controllers stopped working after I moved to Vera2 UI4. short of sending a support ticket to MCV and asking for help, I am wandering if anyone in the forum has encounter this issue and knows of a solution that I can try.
