Vite Lite got Stuck!

I just got my Vera Lite yesterday and I managed to add a few devices (a Duwi wallplug, Aeon Energy Smartswitch and EZMotion 3in1 sensor). Everything was fine until I did something wrong in the 3in1 motion setting. After that I haven’t been able to connect to vera anymore. It says all the time “Loading Data” and “server busy” and after a while it goes to a menu that has the follwoing menu “Setup Network /Upgrade your Firmware/Activate Remote assistance and RequestTechSupport”.I think that some how the MIos got into a loop and I can’t get it back to normal. During all this time the the Ready Light of the vera lite went off. Just the blue power light and network light are lit.

Has anyone experienced this kind of situation? What shoud lI do? I there any way to reset Veralite to factory settings and startall over again?

Thanks
Daniel

in normal operation the orange light should be off . go here : MiOS

but I can’t accesses the Veralite anyway, still in “Loading Data”. My Veralite has the latest firmware. "It says You are running the latest version: 1.5.220 ". In the link to gave it is possible to install the 1.5.322, but I dont want to do that since it is still a beta version.

its a public beta and it adresses the errors you are experiencing hence i strongly suggest you upgrade the thingy. it works fine dont worry. i use it myself. you could also try this : http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,9027.0.html

Your Vera Lite is running beta software anyway. As suggested, please update your firmware. It fixes many issues.

yup so it does
but hearing it from a person like you , being beta tester and having a lot of posts, makes more impression lol
btw it specifically adresses this issues he is experiencing so it all makes so much sense after all.

Another thing to try, locate the green plus button, next to it is a hole, it is the reset button, take a paper clip and do a quick double tap. This should bring it to factory defaults.

I followed to instruction in the link MiOS and I updated the firmware

This is what I got after waiting the 15 minutes.

Unit info
Current firmware: 1.5.322
Current language: English
Current UI: UI5
Unit already connected.
Your system is already up to date. connect to it directly on my network

I followed with a click to the “connect directly to my network” and I got the message “Loading Data” and “Unit Busy” for a short while. Finally the web page appeared with Dash Board, which is an improvement, but in the dashboard under pinned devices it says the following:

Pinned Devices
Unable to communicate with your unit. Please be sure the unit is powered and connected to Internet.
Try again

This is odd because Vera i powered andis connected to the internet…It look that thevera is still not ready, even after updating the firmware…

After that I tried the "reset button. I taped it a few times 2 times, but I didn’t realized any changes or factory settings getting back to factory settings…

This is getting weird, and I still can’t communicate properly with Vera. (Now I am starting to think that if I managed in less than 24 hours to fry one VeraLite that would be a real record …)

Any help would be appreciated…
Daniel

Hey Lancer,

I’ve got the same problem with my Vera Lite, I opened a ticket last week and I’ve got no response.

You’re not alone :frowning:

Josep

in the setup page there is a option for z-wave to reset the z-wave dongle… try that … there is also an option to reset the whole device to factory settings.

I seems that quite a few people had this proble with Vera not responding.

Da_JoJo, Although it shows the web menu I can’t do anything since the http does not connect with vera or vera seems to be “busy” all the time.

Hi Lancer,

After you update the firmware, make sure you log back in via mios.com.
When the unit restarts it might get a new IP address assigned and your browser might not “catch” this. I had exactly the same problem after upgrading. However once I logged on to my unit online everything was fine.

Let me know if that helps,

Flo
