I am new to Vera and so far so bad! I bought the deluxe home edition which came with 2 VistaCamPT cameras, 2 door sensors, a vera 3, 2 multisensors, a door lock, an appliance module, and a lamp module; a fairly costly investment for the whole package. Out of the gate my camera would not pull up and image or be recognized by the system. After multiple resets, power up, power downs, deleting, re-installing finally got it to come up however no Pan or Tilt Control at all. Even when I am on my home network and http into the unit directly, I have no control. Thinking this may be a camera issue, I installed the other one, that unit was recognized and is controllable via direct link (http) into it, but when using the vera software it pans and tilts until it reaches the ends of travel after a single click on the arrow. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix these problems. Mainly the first camera issue, i personally think that unit is bad. Tech support is AWFUL. I never get an actual person when calling, I have left multiple messages over days and have sent multiple emails, I got one phone call back from a barely understandable woman whom could not help me because I was not in front of the unit and there server access was down. I could not log in remotely to my unit. Please help.
Tech support will fix this. Open up aticket vice email and make sure they have access via the UI settings. They’ll usually go in and fixit in a day or two.
Truth is, I have no idea what they did, but mine all work now.
dscalise,
I am having the exact same experience. I bought the exact same kit, and setup the camera first also. At first, it worked like yours, where it would pan/tilt until the ends without stopping. Then they released a new UI7 update which made it stop panning all together. Today I logged into my Vera, and it appears that the camera app was updated to v1.38. The pan and tilt now “sort of” work. I can click the button and it will moved a fixed amount, but only sometimes. My pan/tilt control works perfectly when connected directly to the camera via HTTP.
It is very sad that out-of-the box basic doesn’t work. Especially since this is an “official” kit from MCV, and it is THEIR branded camera!
Update to my situation:
I was finally able to remote access to my system at a time when tech support called me back (at their convenience). Took about 35-40 minutes, they did something and fixed the issues with the camera that was going full scale of travel off of one click. The other camera, as I assumed is d.o.a., never worked properly, they couldn’t get it to work, so tech support reached the same conclusion I had, camera was bad. I was then told, fill in all this info, that I have already given to tech support, and someone else will call you with an RMA number. This was Thursday, I filled in the info as soon as I got back in front of my system replied to their email, sent a follow up email and still have not heard anything from anyone on an RMA. As I said in my original post, their tech support is AWFUL. The hours they are supposedly there are bulls**t, they have never once answered the phone when I called and their email response takes days when they do response. This really pisses me off since I have gone all in with this system. All said and done, if everything worked, I would be even further in and expand my system even further I have already added 2 light switch modules. The devices that are working are great, I love the capabilities of the equipment, but the fact that some of it just doesn’t work is ridiculous. The software and tech support can’t support what they have.
ncnmra,
my advice to you is to unfortunately go through the same stuff I did and be persistent with tech support, they should be able to fix your issue, just no telling how long it might take.
My cam travels until it hits the end. I just use presets now.
