For VistaCam SD, using VeraEdge running 1.7.906, with Ecolink-Zwave2 sensor.
Trying to create a scene, to record 60sec clip on motionsensor detecting motion, ideally in Mode=Away.
Default action by the edge’s wizard/guided setup was to create the action ‘Immediately VistaCamSD-1 take snapshot’.
(There’s no way to specify that the action was desired to be: record a 60sec video clip – you just get the default)
Go to Next Step > Advanced Editor.
It shows the existing action that it created:
#4 VistaCamSD-1 ArchiveVideo Format:1 Duration:1
It appears that Format=1 and/or Duration=1 represent a snapshot. Presume Duration is in seconds?
What are the valid values for ‘Format’ and ‘Duration’?
Tried several variations, Format=0,1,2 – seemed to make no difference.
Duration appears to be related to seconds, but highly variable.
Again using the ‘wizard’, I then added another action (such as: when MotionSensor detects motion, activate the camera and also turn on a light). Once that action is in the AdvancedEditor entries, I can no longer change the Format or Duration. I’m stuck at Format ‘0’, Duration ‘60’. Needed to delete that entire scene and start over to be able to adjust those settings.
What are the valid ‘Format’ values and what are their definitions?
Where are they documented?
What does Duration do, and how does it behave? Seems like 1sec…5sec get a snapshot, values >15sec get a clip? But how are they related to Format?
For Duration = 60, not a single video clip was 60sec. Some up to 95sec. Why is it that inaccurate?
Why does the presence of another activity in the same scene (like turn a light on), freeze the Format & Duration settings?
