VistaCam PT P2P Settings?

Can anyone explain what the P2P settings in the VistaCam web interface are for?

I changed both my username and password (for the camera), and I’m a bit disturbed to see a default “Admin” username and very short password here, and of course I can’t find any documentation on it at all.

Read this link. The important part of what it is look further down the page: http://www.hkvstar.com/technology-news/how-does-p2p-ip-camera-work.html

Now, I had the same questions. I obviously understand peer to peer but I guess it’s kind of like UPnP. Some network settings you don’t have to worry about. Firewall is opened appropriately for remote viewing.

How the admin username and password is used/what it does for this particular camera is not straight forward. I haven’t found any info. I use the traditional port forward and while I have a username/password there is obviously a security risk. However, I see no less security risk in the P2P method mentioned in the article unless anyone can say why otherwise.
