I installed the plugin from appstore one day ago (VistaCam Classic). I could not find the OnTime parameter. I then added it manually from the Advanced tab and set the value to 1200. But it does not make the sensor wait 20 minutes before next trigger.
Is there something wrong here?
The OnTime parameter is in the motion sensor’s Advanced tab.
OK. I uninstalled the plugin and installed again and the OnTime parameter was there now. But now the motion sensor do not work at all. I had a look in “advanced” on the camera and noticed that it had a parameter “MotionSensorID” that contained the old Motion Sensors id so I changed that one to the new sensors id. But it do not work anymore.
What is your recommendation? Uninstall again and also uninstall the camera (how do I do that)??
Sorry for messing up… But I am pretty sure the OnTime variable didn’t work for me, I was getting tons of notifications when the sensor was up…
OK, now the Motion sensor has started to sense motion again (I think it took some time for the new one to initialize). However, it notifies me more often than OnTime (it is set to default=1200) says. For the last ten minutes it has notified me three times.
Is “OnTime” really working? I believe the sensor sends notifications even if it is “armed” and “tripped” with my notification defined as to send when “VistaCam Motion Sensor armed is tripped”

After some time with the VistaCam motion sensor working correctly, I had a problem which required me to reboot the VistaCam, and reset many of its parameters.
The camera now works correctly (again).
I deleted the Motion sensor plug in as part of the troubleshooting process, which may or may not have been a mistake.
I reinstalled the Motion Sensor (several times in fact), but it does not show on the Dashboard (UI5).
When I look at it from the installed apps view, it’s there, but it has not created any devices. I can click “Create Another” and am told the creation is successful, but no new Motion Sensor appears on the Dashboard.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You must set the State variable to 0 (in the Advanced tab), that’s the stage where the motion sensor is created.

But I reviewed the thread, and saw this from your earlier reply to someone else:
“The motion sensor is disabled by default. To enable it open the Advanced tab of the camera device and scroll down until you find the State variable (if you don’t find it reload the engine and refresh the UI). Set this variable to 1, then save.”
I’ve tried it both ways, and cannot get the Motion sensor created.

I am running UI5 on a Vera Lite. I have installed a Vistacam SD wirelessly, and it works well. I am now trying to install the motion sensor plug in, assuming that I do not need a separate motion sensor but that the VistCam can use picture information to sense motion by way of pixel changes. I have installed the plug in and followed the settings described by you for UI5 in detail and made changes in impl_file field and state field - no need for change in device_file field since it changed automatically D_DigitalSecurityCamera2.xml ). However, I see no motion sensor appearing (BTW - where exactly would I see it?). I have de- and re-installed the plug in multiple times, but without success. Can you help?

What camera do you have? Is it the classic VistaCam, or one of the new VistaCams?

does this plugin also work for foscam ? i noticed the vistacam is a rebranded foscam hence why. and if so can i replace the foscam plugins with the vistacam ones ?
i have a sd and a hd foscam ipcam and its getting a bit confusing having 4 plugins which of 2 vistacam plugins are basicly doing the same thing as the foscam 2 plugins ?
I renamed the plugin to VistaCam Classic Motion Sensor Plugin, because it only works with that camera. The VistaCam PT&HD IP Cameras plugin works with the VistaCams in the title, with the Foscam SD+HD cameras and Apexis SD+HD cameras. It aims to support as many cameras as possible to avoid having too many IP camera plugins.
The Foscam plugin is not supported anymore, at least not by me.
so i can replace the foscam plugin with the vistacam ?
the motion-sensor of the foscam plugin was/is working, so i suppose the vistacam classic motion plugin works also ?
in simple language, can i replace the foscam plugin with the vistacam one ? if so , what are the names of the implementation files ?
i know that the motion-sensor of the HD cam doesnt work for my FI9818W but it should for my eminent ip-cam since this uses classic foscam implementation.
Yes, you can replace the Foscam plugin with the VistaCam PT&HD IP Camera plugin. The implementation file is I_VistaCamPT.xml. To enable motion detection, set the State variable to “1”. To disable it, set it to “0”. Motion detection is supported only for the Foscam SD (e.g. Foscam FI8918W) and its clones.

replaced i_foscam… with i_vistacamPT.xml > result in dissapearing of camera after i ctrl-f5 on the UI5
power-cycled my eminent camera > automaticly picked up by vera > vera installed vistacamPT
in settings set <admin/password> and state to 1 > saved and vera reloads and added motion detect> works pretty good ;D
mcvflorin can you take a look at the xml jucca and i made for the foscam hd to implement the presets and PTZ for HD cams into your vistacam plugin ?

no i don’t think so. you can find the new implementation file i made in the foscam section. this one i put here is old version.
I am using a Vistacam SD and installed the Motion Sensor plug in. The configuration worked well for awhile then it stopped working and I had to re-install. I re-installed both the camera and the motion sensor plug in. Right now it only triggers when you are about 1 foot away from the camera. I have tried to re-adjust the camera settings, but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?
Hello, I am new to vera and any z-wave tools. I just setup the veralite control with a vistacam SD camera. I have installed the vistacam motion detector plugin, but nothing changes. How do I activate the plugin? I use it to create a device, it says “device created”, but there is no new device nor any changes on the camera configuration that would allow me to star motion detection. So if you can provide instructions, i truly appreciate.
