Vera's sunrise and sunset time not correct

Hi,

I noticed that the Sunrise and sunset time of Vera is not correct.
Does anybody else noticed this or is there something wrong with my configuration.
If have set the location of Vera correct to the Netherlands (Amsterdam).

Below are my observations.

Date: 4th of November 2013 Actual Time (Netherlands) Vera Time
Sunrise 7:41 6:40
Sunset 17:07 18:48

I think i have the same…it happened after the wintertime change.
I was already wondering why my lights were off already in the morning

Also 645 this morning

There are two possible causes to this.

  1. Your time change did not occur correctly. What version of Vera and firmware are you using? Verify that Vera’s clock is showing the correct time and date. There have been time change transition issues/bugs in the past.

  2. Your solar calculator has a problem. I’ve not heard of any issues with this before. You could try changing your city or setting Latitude and Longitude manually, to see if it makes a difference.

My Vera version is 1.5.622
The Time the displays is correct and also changed correctly when we changed to wintertime last week.
A problem with correcting the Sunset/Sunrise with summer/wintertime I could understand, but the difference in Sunrise time is about an hour and but the difference in Sunset is an hour and 40 minutes.

I checked this sunset/Sunrise time also in the datamine app, which has the possibility to show it on its graphs.

The actual Sunset/Sunrise time I got from a website http://zonsondergang.info/
Also and 1 hour and 40 minutes difference is very Obvious.

I believe Vera (the LuaUPnP program) needs to be restarted to handle time zone changes correctly.

Try the RELOAD button.

Latitude and Longitude manually changing does not help.
I tried that already

Reload does not help either

And you set the TimeZone correctly in Vera.

NOTE: The dashboard shows the timezone for the computer that is running the browser … not necessarily the same as Vera!

I checked the time and time zone with putty. They are correct.

This is very strange. In an attempt to rule out timezone issues, I would try temporarily setting the time zone(not current city) to Algiers and see if it makes a difference.

Solved!

I don’t know why it is solvled, but I changed my current city to another city nearby and now the Sunset time is correct(have not yet checked the Sunrise because I do not use that).
Changed the city back to the old one, and its still correct.

So maybe something went wrong the first time I had set the location.
