Vera's Capabilities

Hi all,
Im currently in the market for a new controller and was hoping someone with Vera experence can answer sone of my final questions.

My home automation setup is not very large and consists of all Z-wave devices:
Two non-dimming light switches, Three outlets, two dimming lamp modules, a Monster cable scene controller, A trane thermostat, and a schlage door lock.

  1. how well does vera get along with the schlage locks? IE, can vera poll and report the door is unlocked?
  2. can Vera program the scene controller? I currently have to switch to control think to program then back to my main software. Its a pain.
  3. Will vera recognize changes to the scene controler? IE, id like to have one button one set the thermostat and turn on some of the outlets. then use button two to set the same devices to a different state AND toggle button one to off.
  4. does vera still function as a wireless router? I remember reading the Vera 1 did but my search (yes I only tried once and not very hard) didnt return a clear answer.

I really appreciate any answers you can give.

Welcome!

1.) They work together flawlessly. I can say this from experience.

2.), 3.) About the scene controller… Well I’m using one of the Monster four button controllers. See here: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?topic=6732.0

4.) In a word, yes.

TY!
I’m planningnon ordering my Vera as soon as the three is ready to ship. Seems Mi Casa Verde read my mind and knew I wanted to replace my home router with something like Vera.

Can’t wait to start playing
