I think you paste this into the firmware upgrade link for VeraSecure (box next to Advanced: URL for custom Vera firmware:)
https://dl.mios.com/rl/721/mt7621s_Luup_ui7-1.7.2937-en-mios.squashfs
No promises but I know the link is good. As for the results? Back it all up first before you try this. I reverted the firmware then loaded my last backup before I foolishly updated the firmware.
***EDIT - Don’t blame me if this fails. If you don’t feel comfy doing it, call tech support.
Good luck!
Upraded my Edge. No issues at all.
Update applied without any issues here also.
Bit the bullet and got the Zigbee network drop on the second day. I am thinking it is not a problem with the firmware itself but with some data which gets corrupted or wiped during the upgrade process on the vera plus… If it is like my previous upgrade, I will see another Zigbee crash within the week.
Dear Chuck et al,
regarding your soapbox:
“I am growing tired of the B.S. with Vera. I started in 2012 with UI5 and all was well. UI7 is HORRIBLE. I dread switching to say Samsung but I need a reliable gateway. Vera isn’t it. Period.”
Do you really think for one minute that SmartThings is so much better than Vera?
Go read their forum and see how unreliable it is to rely on the cloud all the time.
I can’t say that I know the answer, but having used both platforms, I have to tell you that there are pluses and minuses associated with each. In my humble opinion, the best thing that you can do to improve the reliability of your system is to change your devices to the best, the newest, the most supported devices that you can buy. Shrink your tech set if you can.
I believe the reason my setup is relatively stable is that I am using multiple controllers. Vera seems to get unstable if she has to manage too many devices and or plugins. My ‘production’ setup is a due of Vera 3’s. One runs Ui5 (if it ain’t broke, I don’t fix it) and the other runs Ui7. Lately the Ui7 one has become less stable. I suspect due to the fact that some of the recent firmware updates failed (not enough memory) and the resulting factory reset and restore iterations, some gremlins have crept in. I have a ‘QA’ setup of a VeraPlus and VeraEdge that are slated to replace the old setup.
Because of my experiences with factory reset and restore I have decided to migrate by unjoining a device from one of the Vera 3’s and then joining it with the Edge or Plus. This will be more time consuming and I’ll have to rewrite my scenes but I’m expecting a more stable end result. The old 3’s will both be going to the latest Ui7 versions and be used as test/qa (as well as backup) units.
I’ve looked at SmartThings but don’t like the ‘cloud’ dependency. My only other option would be Homeseer as OpenHab is still too much in the tinkering stage. However Vera is stable enough for me not to feel the urge to jump ship so to speak. That doesn’t mean I don’t keep an eye on alternatives as a backup plan B. I don’t truly need HA but I’ve gotten used to the creature comforts it offers me not wanting to give those up.
It sucks I can’t tell Alexa right now to play music on my Sonos speakers or to have Ooma call soandso. But I still have the Sonos app on my phone and soandso is in the phonebook on my Ooma connected phone…
In short, I feel comfortable enough with the latest firmware versions to start my device migration next weekend.
Are you having issues with the Ooma skill or do you somehow have it linked to Vera? I’ve had no issues asking Alexa for my Ooma messages during the current outage with Vera. I was a month ago, but deleted the skill, added it back in and now all is well.

Those aren’t the only two systems out. Actually they are probley the cheapest though. Can’t complain much when you use the cheapest hub out. They are both good for what they are.
No, the Ooma skill is only linked to Alexa. When I tell alexa to tell Ooma to call xxxx (which worked last week) she now tells me there was an error.
I may have to try the delete and re-add method as well to see if that fixes the issue. Thanks!
I’m having the same issue after upgrading. Any thoughts?
Strange one.
If I am logged in locally, the device page sorts down from Z alphabetically.
If I am logged in through the portal it is sorted up from A alphabetically.
Not the end of the world but the toggle from one to the other is sort of goofy.

I did not notice this right after the upgrade. I am seeing it now a few days later. Another new hidden feature? :-\
I have a Vera Plus that I just upgraded earlier today.
I just tried logging into home.getvera.com from the same LAN (PC) and from my iPad from a mobile network.
I did not get a restart from either.
Just tested something else. I do get a luup reload when I go directly to the vera while being logged in to getvera.com. I do not get a reload when I am not logged in.
I reverted my to the previous version and did not get any reload when logging in to the portal. The interesting thing is when I upgrade my Veraplus to the latest firmware again and no more luup reload. It is weird. It must be something with the beta firmware when I first installed it.
Ouch…Speaking too soon. My Veraplus started to have a LUUP reload when logging to the portal although there were no reloads in the last 2 days.
Well for me this firmware upgrade has been a disaster. There was the initial issue with luup engine not loading, which required a factory reset, then I was unable to add any z-wave devices, and now all my z-wave devices have disappeared. Vera support has not responded to my emails for 4 days. My VeraPlus is non-functional.
It’s very frustrating, because I had things working pretty well before the firmware upgrade, even my wife was starting to see that there are real benefits to automation in our home, it wasn’t just me geeking out over some technology. Now I look like an idiot.
Nothing to do now I guess but leave a scathing Amazon review, and chuck this piece of crap in the trash. Maybe I will will try again with SmartThings.

Hi Tim,
I have not had great success with Vera Tech Support either, but I’m pretty sure you can try what I tried.
My VeraPlus upgrade. resulted in invisible but functioning devices. Devices ran in scenes but were invisible on the Vera CP. Lucky for me, Authomation HD on my Droid still displayed them and I knew they were “alive”.
So here’s what you can try (VERAPLUS ONLY Other devices us their own specific firmware***)
*****Make sure if you use a custom Vera IP you know it and the network /WIFI settings and password. Write them down if necessary.
Good luck. I’m offering this help but perform at your own risk. It worked for me but you may have a different outcome. If you do try… please let us all know how it goes!
Word of Warning regarding step 8: The firmware versions for the Vera 3/VeraLite are different from the ones for the VeraPlus and VeraEdge and not compatible with eachother. Make sure to find the correct firmware for the device you have.
