I didnt make this clear but use your laptop wireless and hook the ethernet and extension cord to the vera.
Jblair,
After seeing your post, I tried adding the Evolve switch with both 1 and 2 taps. After re-including the switch, both modes still show the same under capabilities:
211,156,0,4,16,3,L,R,B,RS,|37,39,43,44,112,114,115,134,
152 still does not show up in Vera.
After digging a bit deeper, Evolve’s limited documentation says 1 tap is the newer NWI (Network Wide Inclusion - which looks like it’s supposed to automatically include) protocol while 2 taps is classic inclusion. From what I can see, neither mode makes a difference in terms of enabling security.
Did you do a heal after both inclusions to see if the stars went up? Make sure you uncheck reconfigure devices. I sent you an email. did you get it?
This is the entire reason why I went with the antenna mod. So i would not have to rely on anything in between the locks. Now when i add devices they work great.
When I first added my yale lock I ran a nice long Ethernet cable right next to the door so I could do a full power inclusion. It configured correctly and worked ok, but now that I put veralite in its intended position I have those two nodes that can’t communicate (evolve switch and yale lock) Funny thing is, the evolve switch receives the command because it does turn on/off but the vera can’t get any confirmation info from the node resulting in an error in UI5.
I’m going to order the parts you suggest and post you my results when I get some results.
Yup! Same results when adding under either method (2 stars on the heal report).
Ah, sorry, your message was caught in spam. Replied.
Thanks!
