I just realized I have upwards of the stated Veralite limit on number of devices (70 according to the website) and was wondering if I should upgrade. I have 82 actual z-wave devices, a number of other IP type devices like a Nest, IP cameras, etc… plus about 10 plugins and 40 scenes. Everything seems to work fine and I still want to add maybe a few more z-wave devices. Is an upgrade necessary? Will the Veralite actually tell me I’ve reached the limit?
Again everything seems to work fine and it wasn’t until I counted that I realized what I had.
Have you checked memory and CPU utilisation? I would say if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! I just upgraded to a vera3 and still have restarts for other reasons so if it’s stable I wouldn’t worry. Especially as there may be new hardware soon.
Vera does not communicate very clearly … but she will tell you when she get’s overloaded … she throws a hissy fit … then restarts.
So if you see the rate of Vera Restarts increase … you are stressing the resources on Vera.
Options are to split your Z-Wave network or get a bigger Vera.
